Our genre painting in A old-Vienna wine tavern ( in German: Heuriger) was painted around 1920s by listed Austrian artist Franz Windhager (1879-1959). In 1895 he studied at the art school of Heinrich Streblow and later continued his studies under Christian Griepenkerl at the painting school of Vienna Academy. The artist travelled a lot and executed a number of works that won many awards (small Gold Medal in 1909 for his work "In winter", Dumba prize in 1918, State Prize in 1931 etc.).
