Large marble sculpture of Hebe, the Ancient Greek goddess of youth, was executed by good listed German sculptor Ernst Wägener ( 1854 Hanover - 1920 Berlin).
He was born on 1.6.1854 in Hanover. After studying at the "Berliner Akademie" (1876-1879), and in the advanced class of Reinhold Begas (1879-1881), he settled in Berlin and began a long career marked by the imprint of the Baroque. and neo-classicism.
Among his notable works are the statue of Hanovera in the town hall of Hanover, various statues in the town hall of Osnabrück (in particular the emperors Arnulf and Maximilien), as well as the monument of Goethe in Strasbourg (1904 ).
