Panoramic pre-Alps landscape with view of Salzburg was executed by Munich landscape painter Ferdinand Feldhütter (1842 Munich - 1898 Munich).

Initially active as a folk singer, Feldhütter was trained as a decoration and rouleaum painter. He often visited the Munich museums and began to paint mountain landscapes as an autodidact. After that he became a private student of the landscape painter Julius Lange; he had no academic training. He mostly painted the mountains of Bavaria, Switzerland and northern Italy.
The influence of Carl Spitzweg's landscape painting can be seen in his works. His "Game of Sachran near Kufstein" was awarded a gold medal at the international exhibition in Barcelona in 1898.

He was a member of the Munich Art Association and took part in its exhibitions. His works also appeared in the Gartenlaube and in the weekly Über Land und Meer.

Feldhütter also gave humorous lectures in Munich artists' pubs.
