River landscape in sunset colors was executed by listed French landscape painter and ceramic artist Jules Lacoste (1834 - Paris - 1893). Pupil of L.Coignet, worked in Limoges. Exhibited his landscapes neighborhood of Limoges in 1868-1870 at the exhibitions of the Paris Salon. In Museum of Limoges is his ”View des Pont St-Etienne (1892).

Inscription: signed lower right, on the back of the stretcher - stamp of French Marine Ministry.

Measurements: unframed w 18 1/8” x h 12 3/4” (46 x 32,5 cm),  framed w 24 3/4” x h 19 3/4” (63 x 50 cm).

Technique: oil on canvas, antique gold-plated frame.

Condition: very good.
