Romantically mountain landscape with the village by the river was executed by good listed Belgian landscape painter Jean Jacob Verreyt, Jean-Jacques Verreyt or Jacob Johann Verreyt (1807 Antwerp - 1872 Bonn). He was Belgian painter and watercolorist. Education at the Academy in Antwerp. Stayed for some time in Antwerp and then settled in Germany: in Cologne in 1841, in Bonn in 1853. He realized portraits, figures, genre scenes, landscapes, often by moonlight. Exhibited in Brussels in 1833 and 1842, among others.
