Monumental landscape painting ”imptessions from Algeria” was executed by famous Austrian animale and hunting painter Anton Schrödl (1820 - 1906 Vienna). This painting was created by the Schrödl after his travel to North African State of Algeria together  with the polar explorer and art patron Johann Nepomuk Graf Wilsczek in 1870.

Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and was characterized by excellent technique and precise execution. Because of the frequent depiction of sheep in his pictures, he is often referred to as the “sheep classic”. He  painted landscapes animale and hunting paintings and was known as the inventor of "decals".

Technique: oil on canvas, framed.
