Biedermeier landscape painting with watermill in the Alpine landscape (probably in Austrian region Salzkammergut was executed ijn 1850s by famous Austrian landscape painter and graphic artist Franz Barbarini ( 1804 Znaim - 1873 Vienna). Father of two another painters Emil and Gustav Barbarini, Franz B. studied at the Viennese Academy from 1824 to 1826 in the sculptor class, later in the workshop of Josef Kempel. Study travells to Austrian Alps and to Switzerland. Created a lot of romantical-realistical landscapes, watercolours and etchings of Salzburg, Salzkammergut, Tirol, Switzerland. nfluenced from art of Thomas Ender and Johann Fischbach.
