Large genre scene from Viennese high society live in 19th century: Vorso race in Viennese Prater. This work was executed in 1884 by Sport and horse painter Richard Rosenbaum. The artist was born in Vienna in 1864, studied under Julius Blaas, after 1890 emigrated through England to USA. His oil paintings are extremely rare on international art market, except his waterclours. We found only two oil paintings ”The coach from Dublin to Edinborough“ and ”Carriage race in the Central Park in New York”, both painted by him in the early 1890s after his leaving Vienna. Thus, our painting is the only known work of his during the Vienna period.
