Early landscape painting with resting young sheperds created by very good listed German landscape arist Johann Christian Klengel (1751 Kesselsdorf by Dresden - 1824 Dresden).

Klengel Johann Christian, landscape painter and etcher was the son of a poor land man and with 14 years began to study the art with assistance of General Director of Hagedorn . He was recommended to Chr. W. E. Dietrich, who its took care of warmly. By his sponsor he received annual salary also soon without official position from the Court , 1777 he became member of the king academy of arts, and attained, after he visited 1790 Italy, in the year 1800 a Professur at the academy. Klengel maintained ground long time at the point of the Dresdener landscape painters and had in particular as a teacher a large influence. Most of his pictures moved to Poland and Russia; it is luckiest in the same, if it treats the nature of his Saxonian Heimath. Beside numerous oil paintings still many watercolors and designs , presented in sangine, sepia etc.. His etchings , consisting of landscapes, animals and rural figures amounts to 304 plates.
