German-italian  painter Philipp Peter Roos, also known as  Rosa  di Tivoli , (1651 in Frankfurt/Main - 1705 in Tivoli with Rome) was trained first by his father, the painter Johann Heinrich Roos and starting from 1677 by H. Brandis in Rome. Roos attained celebrity as an animal painter. Often he painted herdsmen and herds in landscapes. Philipp Peter Roos was son of the painter Johann Heinrich Roos and brother the painter Johann Melchior Roos .
