Carl Johann  (Karl Johann)Arnold renown German animalist painter, graphic artist, illustrator, *30.8.1829 Kassel - †11.8.1916 Jena. Son of Carl Heinrich Arnold und later his pupil. Studied.: Academy in Kassel, then Academy in Antwerpen, later - by Adolf Menzel in Berlin, here was awarde to range of royal-prussian court painter. 1886-1913 worked in Weimar . He created mainly humorful animal genre scenes, also portraits . VHis animalist works were regulary reproducted in famous magazines of the time. As his main work " Eberjagd" was exhibited 1858 in Berlin.
