Extra large gala still life with flowers , fruits and peacock was executed in the second half of 19th century by good listed Austrian court painter Irma Komlosy (1850 Prague -1894 Vienna).Due to the view of Viennese Cathedral of St.Stephan on the background and detaills of a palace garden on the foreground, the painting was executed by the author in the one of Viennese Royal palaces, probably in the Royal summer residence Schönbrunn Palace, where she worked long time as drawing teacher by members of Austrian Royal Houses. Irma Komlosy descends a famous family of painters of the 19/20th centuries. In 1872 she came to Vienna, where entered a class of Prof. Friedrich Sturm at the Vienna Kunstgewerbeschule (( Arts and Crafts School). She dedicated herself to flower painting and was adored fo her still lifes of flowers. During 15 years Komlosy taught the mebers of Austrian Royal house, among other Ore Duchess Maria Theresia and Countess Irma Apor. She also worked at orders of Countess Maria Valeria and Blanka. Her flower paintings were frequently exhibited at Austrian Art Union, Vienna Artists Unit as well as in Prague, Brno, Budapest and Munich (1890 Munich Glass Palace). 3 years long Komlosy worked in North America and exhibited there a collection of her paintings.

Provenance: Viennese noble estate, later in the collection of Philip Hohenlohe.
