The symbolistic painting depicts ancient Roman villa garden with a beauty , adorning her hair with a flower garland. This large work was executed in 1897 in Rome by listed German landscape , architecture painter and etcher Max Röder ( 1866 Munich - 1947). The artist studied by Paul Nauen, since 1888 lived in Rome. Since 1913 - member of St.Lucas Academy in Rome. It´s known his colossal paintings"Acropolis" and "The Roman Forum" (both situated in the high school auditorium in Muenchengladbach); "Villa by ther sea" (museum of Munenchengladbach); "Aetna" (museum of Rostock); "Villa Torlonia" (Palazo Ducale, Urbino); " In the garden of Villa Borgese in Rome", "Villa park landscape with a pond" . The artist worked also as etcher in the National Gallery (Palace Corsini), Rome.
