Monumental excellent garden still life with flowers was executed in the end of 19th century by prominent Swiss painter, graphic artist and ceramist Gustave Jeanneret (1847 Motiers-travers/Neuchatel - 1927). The artist lived in Neuchatel, taught himself by painting around Neuchatel, joined in 1865 as a design draftsman in the Mullhausener wallpaper factory, and went in 1867 to Paris, where he worked on the Different arts and crafts areas, among others, as a ceramist in Bourg-la-Reine. He also made ​​studies in the Louvre and visited Academie Suisse. Received strong influences from Millet, Courbet, Manet and Bastien-Lepage. Upon his return, he settled down as a painter in Neuchatel and raised the signposting of life of the working Kslasse. Particularly characteristic of the triptych "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity" is. Apart from a study trip to Venice (1889) is the painter remained constantly in the Sweiz and has created here a series of impressive landscapes, portraits and still lifes. He was commissioner of the Swiss department at the World Expo in Paris in 1889, and later president of the Federal Art commission. Collective exhibition March / April 1914 in Zurich Helmhaus. His works situated in many public collections: museums of Geneve , Rath, Neuchatel, Solothurn, Cressier and La Chaux-de-Fonds (France). ceramics - in museums of Limoges and Berlin.
