Swiss panoramic view with original artist´s title "Weg auf Rosenlaui mit dem Wetterhorn" was executed by Austrian landscape painter Carl Schmid (Schmidt) born 1837 , died 1871. He was pupil of Anton Hansch in the Viennese Academy , worked in Vienna and travelled and take motives from Austrian and Swiss Alpine regions.Notes: Rosenlaui - glacier cave at Wetterhorn.

Wetterhorn - mountain peack (3692 m. over sea) in the Swiss Bern Alps.

Inscription: original artist´s label on the back of the stretcher in German: " Carl Schmid, München Carlsplatz 3/2. Auf dem Weg zu Rosenlaui mit dem Wetterhorn".

Technique: oil on wood panel. Original period frame.

Measurements: unframed w 12 3/4" x h 9 7/8" (32,5 x 25 cm), framed w 20 1/4" x h 16 7/8" ( 51,5 x 43 cm).

Condition: in very good condition.
