This pair of angel painting was created and framed (hand crafted) in Florence in the middle of 19th century by an Italian follower of famous early Renaissance painter Fra Angelico (1395 - 1455). He was born in Florence, between 1420 and 1422 he entered the monastery of San Domenico at Fiesole. He painted altarpieces and manuscripts. Linaiuoli altarpiece , a triptych enclosed in a marble shrine, was an early masterpiece, but he went on to paint famous frescoes in the monastery San Marco in Florence and the chapel in the Vatican. He died in 1455.

Technique: each: oil on wood with original gold background. Original period hand-crafted and gold-plated wood frames.
Measurements: each image w 4 1/2" x h 11 3/4" (11,5 x 27,5 cm), each framed 7 3/4" x h 22 1/2" (19,5 x 57 cm).
