This monumental landscape painting (due to the framing master label from Linz , probably with motive from Upper Austria or Salzkammergut) was executed in 1910 by listed Czech-Austrian painter Franz Kuna (1881 in Ústí nad Labem, Bohemia - 1943 Vienna ). The artist studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule des k. k. Austrian. Mus. for art and industry in Vienna and at the Univ. Vienna. Real Schoool teacher in Vienna, 1907 provisor., 1911 definit Chief teacher, 1908-10 as drawing teacher at the Gymnasium in Linz, starting from 1910 at the Stiftsgymn. Wilhering, from 1907 also worked at the teacher training center in Linz, 1938-43 -Director. Inscription: signed with monogramm K, and dated 1910, lower right; on the back of the original frame:there are the artist´s stamp in German: " Franz Kuna, Oberstudiendirektor" and the label of the frame producer in Linz (Upper Austria).
Technique: oil on canvas. Splendid original Art Nouveau gold-plated frame.
