Genre scene „ Music lesson“ was executed by good listed German painter Wilhelm Friedrich Friedenberg (1845 Frankfurt am Main - 1911 Kronberg/Taunus). 1860-62 study under Wilhelm von Lindenschmit in Frankfurt am Main, in 1862-68 - Städel-Institute by Edward von Steinle. 1869 moving to Kronberg; belongs to the first generation of the Kronberg painter colony; Friendschip with different members, especially close contact with Anton Burger. Travel and longer stays in Munich, Berlin, Dresden, Düsseldorf and Karlsruhe. 1870/71 soldier. 1884 Prof. At the Städel Art Institute. In the 1890s, Frankfurter Art Union organized personal exhibition. Friedenberg is late romantic and no innovator in painting, but blends with very carefully. Pictures, especially genre scenes (the Bitter medicine, priv. estate) and Portraits. In his genre scenes he sometimes reminds of Franz von Defregger. Since he was a passionate hunter, there are also payers. Hunting scenes and still life among his works, as well as views of Kronberg and the surroundings (Kronberg from the Helbingshainer Meadows, oil, priv.estate).
