This great Alpine landscape with waterfall every-where in Tyrol or in the Swiss Alps was executed in 1864 by good-listed Austrian landscape and animal painter Joseph Johann Rauch (1805 - 1866). He was born in Vienna, his other two bruders Ferdinand and Johann Nepomuk were famous painters too. Joseph Rauch studied at the Viennese Fine Art Academy, where his paintings were represanted on exhibitions from 1826 to 1850.

Inscription: signed and dated 1864 lower left.
Technique: oil on canvas. Splendid original period gold-plated frame.

Condition: in very good condition.
