A humorous scene with a schoolboy who instead of homework is engaged in catching flies. This lovely genre painting was executed by Austrian painter of Polish origin Leopold Löffler - Radymno ( 1827 Radymno - 1898 Krakow ). The artist lived and worked in Vienna, studied since 1846 at the Viennese Academy under Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller, later at the Academy in Munich and in 1854-1858 in Paris. Since 1877 - Professor at the Art School in Krakow.

Inscription: signed lower right, antique bronze plaque with the artist‘s name mounted to the frame, on the back of the panel - label of a Viennese panel producer.
