This high romantical seascape was executed c.in 1850 by important Austrian-Slovenian landscape painter Markus Pernhart (1824 Obermieger - 1871 Klagenfurt). This work illustrated in the most important monography about this artist (in German) by Arnulf Rohsmann "Markus Pernhart : die Aneignung von Landschaft und Geschichte" , page 85, Klagenfurt, 1992 with the title " Seelandschaft mit Barke" and fully identical dimensions to our 31 x 38,5 cm. Additionally included written confirmaiton for authorship by the expert of Dorotheum auction house Mrs. Christl Wolf. /P>

Condition : the painting was cleaned by a professional restorer and as can be seen the same painting represanted in the Rohsmann´s monography in its original, contaminated condition.
