This historical portrait of the famous Ukrainian haydamak-centurion Ivan Gonta from the Uman ( in Ukrainian haydamak-sotnik) from the times of Koliivschchina was executed by unknown Ukrainian painter in 1900s, based on the painting by Sergij Wasilkivskij ( 1854 - 1917) of the same name.

The Koliivshchina uprising ( in Ukrainian Коліївщина) in 1768 was the last Hajdamak uprising.The uprising of the Hajdamaks, a group of Ukrainian peasants and Cossacks in right-bank Ukraine, was directed against the Polish feudal rule of the Szlachta in the Bracław Voivodeship and was a reaction to the Confederation of Bar.
