Large painting with humorfully genre scene in the school class was executed by Czech-German genre and portrait painter Ferdinand Jelinek (1854-1912). Studied by professor Pirchan in Brno, later in Munich by Nik.Gysis and fr. v. Uhde. The artist created portraits, genre paintings and landscapes in the style of old masters. His works situated in numerous private collections.
Inscription: signed lower left, on the back of the stretcher - old label with the biography of the artist.
Technique: oil on canvas. Original gilt frame.
Measurements: unframed w 41 3/4” x h 27 1/8” (106 x 69 cm), framed w 47” x h 32 1/2” (119,5 x 82,5 cm ).
