Genre scene with Hutsuls on the mountain path was executed by famous Polish-Ukrainian painter Józef Jaroszyński (1835 Lwow - 1900 Munich).

He studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. Initially, he mainly painted horse studies. The theme of his paintings were also landscapes and scenes from hunting and life of the Hutsul or Ukrainian villages, which were popular in the artist's work. There are also known compositions referring to literary and historical motifs. The painter also dealt with lithography. Interestingly, references to the work of Józef Brandt and Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski were found in the artist's paintings. Although Jaroszyński lived in Delatyn (now in Ukraine) for most of his life, he was also strongly connected with Munich, to which he regularly traveled for twenty years (he had his studio there). The artist exhibited his works not only in Vienna and Munich, but also in Krakow, Lviv and Warsaw. He was an ordinary member of the Munich Kunstverein.
