Monumental view of the lake Walenstadt in Switzerland was executed by good listed landscape painter of Duesseldorf school Robert Schultze ( (Magdeburg 1828 - 1910 Munich).

Schultze attended the Dresden Art Academy from 1845 and the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1847. In 1849/1850 he was one of the students of the landscape painter Johann Wilhelm Schirmer. [1] He also worked in his private studio. In 1856, Schultze´s son Carl was born in Düsseldorf, who also attended the Düsseldorf Academy from 1871 and became a landscape painter. Schultze was a member of the artists´ association Malkasten. On his "paint box stage" he was also involved as a dramaturge in the performance of "foolishly witty" pieces. From 1852 he found his motifs, especially mountain landscapes, on study trips to southern Germany, Switzerland and northern Italy. In 1874 and 1875 he visited the coasts of Norway. In 1875 he moved to Munich, where he died in 1910.
