View of a port by Belgian painter, illustrator, entomologist Lucien(Lucien-Charles-Victor-Marie) Frennet (1888 Fleurus - 1949 Ixelles/Brussels). Stud.: Atheneum Ixelles/Brussels (Human Sciences); Acad.R. from the BA Brussels, with Emile Fabry. Numerous in the 1920s and 30s. Traveling through Europe.

Award: 1909 1st prize of the Acad.R. the BA Brussels; 1938 President of the Soc.R. Entomologique de Belgique; Honorary Member the Soc.des Naturalistes de Mons et du Borinage.
F. paints interiors with antique furniture and lavish carpets that resemble an aristocrat. Show ambience. Also clear, light-filled erasers. with wide skies, beach and harbor views, fishing boats, canals and rivers in the play of light and shadow;  From 1925 strong influence of Arnold Böcklin. F. also designs bookplates and illustrations, including an album commissioned by the Compagnie Maritime du Congo, a calendar for the Red Star Line with historical motifs and poster designs, e.g. for the Soc. Nat. of the Chemins de Fer Belges. payer Exhibition participation. – For over 50 years, F. compiled an extensive collection of insects, which was taken over by Inst.R. after his death. of the Sc. Naturelles de Belgique was taken over. F. repeatedly carried out insect determinations for this and other institutes. In 1938 he and others acquired an area near Torigny to save the flora and fauna of the Jurassic era. Published in Bull. des Naturalistes belges and in Bull. et Ann. de la Soc.R. d'Entomologie de Belgique.
