The romantic painting was executed by German painter Jacobus Leisten, born 1844 in Dusseldorf (d. 1918). He is famous as genre and historical painter, studied under W.Sohn, 1869-73 in Munich, 1895-96 undertook a study travell in Italy. His pieces are located in museums in Elberfeld and Bremen, in City Museums in Coburg and Gotha.
