Original watercolour (grisaille) as design to Vienna Christmas postcard, dated 1901, was executed by good listed Austrian artist Josef Kraenzle (1874 - 1937). Kränzle was a famous illustrator in Vienna in the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century, working for different newspapers, magazines and doing designs for postcards.

Inscription: signed J.Kraenzle, lower left and inscribed in German "Vienna".

Technique: matted grisaille (one-colour watercolour) on cardboard.

Measurements: image w 7 1/2" x h 11 3/4" (19 x 30 cm); matted w 12 3/4 " x h 19 3/4" (32 ,5 x 50 cm)

Condition: in good condition.
