This is one of seria of 9 original watercolours , executed on the turn of 20th century as design to a book / poster illustration or advertisement and depicting figure of a beauty as butterfly with the famous "Berliner illustrated" magazine on the back. This seria was executed by famous Viennese painter Heinrich Strehblow (1862 - 1915) for publishing house Emil Berte and Co. in Vienna and oneach design under image there is stamp of this publisher. The author of designs Heinrich Strehlow was genre and portrait painter in Vienna in the endof 19th century to the beginn of 20th century. He studied at the Fine Art academy in Vienna by Carl Wurzinger and Sigmund L`Allemand and at the Academy in Munich by Herterich and Loefftz. Since 1899 he grounded own art school in Vienna. Due to the info from artnet.com date base his paintings works arrived in international auctions high results (for exemple, 35000 USD by Sotheby´s London, on 27.11.1991 , Lot 159 ).

Inscription: signed in pencil by the artist with monogramm lower right , stamp of the publisher under image in the middle and signature of the artist - on the original matt lower right.

Technique: watercolour on thin cardboard. Original period matt, unframed .

Measurements: unframed w 9 1/4" x h 12 6/8 " (23,5 x 32 cm), framed w 11 3/4 " x h 15 3/4 " (30 x 40 cm).

Condition: in quite good condition, afew stains left lower.
