Portrait watercolour of a noble Child riding a Donkey was executed in 1864 by listed Austrian portrait, genre painter and lithographer Franz Pitner (1826 Vienna - 1892 Gries by Bozen). At first he studied in Vienna, and from 1833 to 1834 in Rome. Long time was he a drawing teacher of Duchess of Berry in the castle Brunnsee by Graz and also worked in Venice and Vienna. Since 1857 exhibited regularly portraits and genre works a the exhibitions of the Austrian Art Union . He was talented painter, influenced from Josef Kriehuber . His portraits are very detailed painted and expressive. Since 1861 - member of the Viennese Union Kuenstlerhaus. On the sales of famous Schidlof auction house in 1922 -1925 were sold severel his watercolour portraits on paper and ivory.
