This street scene in Tunis was executed by Hungarian painter Jeno Koszkol (Dorog 1868 - Budapest 1935).
He was tutored by Bertalan SZÉKELY and Károly LOTZ in Budapest. Firstly he appeared in exhibitions with his water-colour and pastel landscapes, town-scenes and still-lives. Awards: Esterházy Award (1896), State Watercolor Award (1923). He went on a longer study trip to Italy, Germany and North Africa.
In 1911 he arranged an exhibition in Arad. Onwards from 1928 he spent the summers in Esztergom. He won several national awards and prizes. His paintings can be found in the Hungarian National Gallery and also the Historical Museum displays many of his works.
