This masterfully antique porcellain figure is one part of three figures (see next two lots) depicting most famous actors and congenial partners in the plays and comedies in Vienna theaters of the Biedermeier Epoch: Johann Nestroy, Wenzel Scholz and Carl Treumann .
This figure (as pencil tray) was executed in 1850s in Praque and depicting figure of Wenzel Scholz (1787 Innsbruck - 1857 Vienna) as comedy character Gabriel Brunner. Werner Scholz was a popular Austrian actor in the old Viennese Folk theatre (Volkstheater) who became admits particularly as congenial partner of Johann Nestroy in his plays and comedies.
