This antique Russian bronze with enough rare animalistic motive was executed by listed bronze sculptor, drawer and medalist Nikolay Kaznakov (active in St.Petersburg from 1860s). It was cast in 1890-1900 in the St.Petersburg foundry Karl Berto, who was the successor of Chopin foundry.

Karl Berto (Charles Auguste Bertault) Foundry. Studied 11 years under Barbedienne, Paris.Period: 1889 – 1903.In 1889 – 1890 the products were marked as Chopin & Berto or K.BertoFelix Chopin’s foundry has been passed over to Karl Berto in around 1890.Location: St. Petersbourg, Russia.
