High quality miniature on ivory created in 1820s by french miniaturist Claire Bergeret, who was active in 1820-1830s. Daughter of  french painter Pierre-Nolasque Bergeret, the artist was a pupil by Isabey in Paris.

 Inscription: signed in the middle on the right edge , on the reverse- old inscription in German (see photo).

Technique: gouache on ivory.  Original period   frame. 

Measurements:  unframed w 3 1/8" x h 7 1/2" (8 x 9 cm), framed w  6 1/4" x h 6 3/4" ( 16 x 17 cm).

Condition: in very good condition, no cracks or repairs
