Portrait of noble child due to the original inscription on the reverse "Charlotte Augusta Howard, 13-year-old". This fine miniature on ivory was executed in 1831 Emma Eleonora Kendrick (1788 - 1871), good listed British miniature and watercolour female artist, court painter by King George IV and his dauther Princess Elisabeth I. The artist named " Miniature Painter in Ordinary to the King", she worked in London, member of New Water-Clour Society and Society of British Artists. exhibited her works from 1811 to 1840 to exhibitions of British Royal Academy and water-colour society (1815720). Painted miniature portraits of royal house and high London society and watercolours with classical-mythological and literature subjects.(Amor and Psyche; Cleopatra; scenes from Byron and Walter Scott). In the late period she was teacher for miniature painting by dauthers of high noble families. Her hand book under the title " Conversations on the Art of Miniature Painting",appeared in 1830, despite its smaller extent is still valuable source for special researchers until today.
