Early miniature (oil on metal) by a French(?) miniaturist from the time of Classicism ca. 1790 and depicting classical allegorical subject Goddess Hebe with Jupiter`s eagle: In ancient Greek mythology Hebe was the goddess of youth, the daughter Zeus and Hera. She was the cupbearer for the gods of Mount Olympus, serving on Olympus serve wine gods until her has not replaced Hanimed.According to legend, Hebe was dismissed from her office in consequence of a fall which she met with one day when in attendance on the gods. Her successor was Ganymede, whom Jupiter, in the disguise of an eagle, seized and carried off from Mount Ida. It has been given in marriage for Heracles when it has found immortality as a sign on reconciliation Hera with Heracles. Hera has adopted Heracles. The altar with the image of marriage Heba and Heracles was in Herenoia near Mycenae. Their children called Alexiares and Aniket.In Rome Heba referred to Uventa (Latin is Juventus), had some temples and personified eternally youthful prosperity of the state.
