This is a one part of the collection of 4 miniatures ( for other see item No. 3284,3285, 3286)., depicted portrait of Count Emanuel Ludwig Leutrum von Ertingen (1785 - 1858) in military uniform of a Prussian cavalry captain of the 2nd West Prussian Lancers Regiment, number 6 . We are greatful to the well-known expert on European military costume Mr Stanislav Lyulin, Moscow for a precise definition of the uniform. Count E.L.Leutrum von Ertingen was the represantative of famous Swabian noble family. His father Karl August Emanuel Leutrum von Ertingen (* 1732, † 1795), Sardinian royal treasurer, general-lieutenant and head of regiment, was elevated on 19 March 1781 by Victor Amadeus III., King of Sardinia, to the rank of count. His sons founded two count lines that were settled in Württemberg (the sitter of our miniature) and Silesia.This masterfully miniature on ivory was executed ca. in 1815-1817 by a represantative of Austrian or German miniaturist school.P> Provenance: Viennese private estate. Inscription: unsigned, on the reverse old inscribed in German about the sitter ( see add.photo).

Technique: gouache on ivory,original period bronze frame.

Measurements: image w.2" x h.2 5/8 " (5 x 6.6 cm); framed w.2 1/4 " x h.2 3/4" (5,5 x 7 cm)

Condition: in very good condition.
