This is one of 4 miniatures from the same collection ( for other see item No. 3283, 3284. 3286). Actual work is portrait miniature a young hussar from the Napoleonic time, due to the backside original inscription "Count Csaky u. Röreczek u. Emerich II Johann Nepomuk Franz, 10.5 1768 in Pressburg, died 3.5.1843 in Neapel". For info: since 1688 it's known Austrian-Hungarian "Csáky (Nádasdy)" hussar regiment, which recieved glory by battles again turks. The head of this regiment from1724 to 1788 was Count Gyorgy Csaky, and probably the sitter on our miniature is his son or another next relative. Our early miniature was executed ca. in 1810s and attributed to the hand of good listed Viennese miniature painter Nanette Rosenzweig - Windish. She studied by well-renowed miniature and portrait painter H.F.Füger at the Viennese Academy, and worked in Vienna from 1790s to 1820s. She created miniature portraits of famous noble families in Germany , Austria, Poland and Russia (including portraits of Napoleon II, Baron Stroganoff, M.K.Oginski) and her miniatures situated in the State Musesum (painting gallery) in Berlin,National Museum in Warshaw, in Academy in Vienna and in the best private miniature collections: Tansey, Dr. E. Ullmann, Baroness Exterde, L.Emele and others.Provenance: Viennese private estate.
