Fine detailed genre scene with a nobleman preparing for a new journey was executed by Austrian painter Franz Xavier Wolf (born 1896 in Vienna). The artist studied in the Vienna and Munich Academy and during his years there travelled a lot in France, Italy, Denmark, England, Germany and in the Orient. The artist painted still lifes, landscapes and loved to genre scenes. Some of his genre works became very popular after major auctions successes.
