Expressionist colourfully portrait of a rooster is early work ( late 1960s - early 1970s ) of Tirolian female painter Philomena Pichler, born Wörgötter ( 1947 St.Johann/ Tirol - 2026 Vienna).
She has lived and worked in Tirol and since last 20 years in Vienna. She received the Cologne City Gazette's Recognition Award as early as 1964. A self-taught and unconventional thinker, she studied under Prof. Opperer and Prof. Otte (Salzburg) and Prof. Gerald Nitsche (Innsbruck). Three semesters of lithography and stone printing with Mag. Doz. Wojtek Krzywoblocki, Mag. Lebzelter, and Mag. Dr. Kodera (Vienna) completed her training.
Pichler's work is compelling due to its pioneering approach to sustainability in art. She is a master of the sensitive handling of existing materials and the art she has created. Her approach is truly innovative and exemplary, demonstrating a sustainable and valuable method for creating art that is truly valuable. Object art has become a significant element of her oeuvre. Abstraction and figuration complement each other, forming a harmonious whole. The color focus is on yellow, red, blue, white, and black. Numerous exhibitions in Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary, and the USA.
