Rare original hand-coloured (by artist) lithography was executed in 1860 by famous Viennese lithograph and painter Adolf Dauthage (1825 Rustendorf - 1883 Vienna). The lithography depicting famous Viennese actor, theater lieder and writer Carl Treumann (1823 Hamburg - 1877 Baden by Vienna) as Isak Stern, jewish character in the operette "One of our people ("Ein von unseren Leut"). under image there is inscription in german;" Carl Treumann als Isak Stern in "Einer von unsre Leut``" and above a quotation from this operette on Viennese slang : "A mal hab´n mer müssen gehn spaziren durchs rothe Meer! jetzt gehn mer spaziren in Badner park - is ah feucht genug ! auf Ehr!".Adolf Dauthage (1825 -1883) was famous Austrian Lithograph. Dauthage originated from simple conditions . After broken off study at the Viennese academy, he worked four years in the studio of Josef Kriehuber. Like his eacher busy he himself predominantly as portrait lithograph. He enjoyed in of the Viennese society, whose members he depicted in portraits large popularity. (Joseph of hammer Purgstall, Franz Grillparzer, František Palacký, members of the academy of the sciences, famous actors). Our lithography was described inn the lexicons by Boetticher and Thieme/Becker.Carl Treumann was Viennese actor, theatre leader, writer. Starting from 1847 at the theatre at Vienna (Theater an der Wien), starting from 1852 at the Carl theatre in Vienna, where he played together with W.Scholz and J. Nestroy . 1860 he became the leader of the Carl theatre; the triumphale success of Offenbach " Orpheus in the Unterworld" with Nestroy as Jupiter put the foundation-stone for the development of Viennese Operette . He builds the theatre for 1860 at the Franz Josefs Kai (" Kaitheater" or " Treumann Theater"), which he led up to his destruction by a fire 1863; 1863-66 recently director of the Carl theatre; translated Operetts texts (particularly of J. Offenbach) and furnished them for the German stage.
