A pair of mythological scenes with cupids "Love target" and "Allegory of music" executed in the first half of 18th century. Despite the lack of a signature, this magnificent pair of paintings has all stylistic criteria including high quality, fully identical subject and period for being attributed to the hand of famous Italian painter Gasparo Diziani (1689-1767). For comparison with other works by him see our additional images.
Italian painter of the late-Baroque or Roccoco period, active mainly in the Veneto but also in Dresden and Munich. The artist's canvas is the largest painting of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.
