Impressionistic still life of roses in a basket was executed by good listed Frwnch female painter of flowers Marie Hodieux ( Mme Beloux- Hodieux), born 1860 in Lyon, died 1897 in Paris. Pupil of Andre Perrachon. Exhibited at Salon of Lyon since 1885, awarded with Second Medaille in 1892; exhibited in Paris Salon since 1895. She created many paintings with flowers, paying more attention to the decorative effect than to documentary accuracy.
Her works are in Museum of Lyon.
