This family interior scene was executed in 1906 by listed French painter Louis Merou (born 1870). Natural son of unknown father, entered the Montpellier School of Arts, placed in charge by the Montpellier town hall. Sent to the Paris School of Fine Arts.

Inscription: signed and dated 1906 lower left.

Technique: oil on canvas. Original period frame.

Measurements: unframed w 15"x h 18 1/8" (38 x 46 cm); framed w 25 1/4" x h 28 1/3" (64 x 72 cm).

Condition:  good original condition.
