Biedermeier portrait of a young nobleman with mountain landscape on the background was executed in 1840 by Austrian portrait and miniature painter of Hungarian origin Antonin (Anton) Ferencz or Ferenz (1801-1888), who was active in Austria from 1834 to 1846.
