High quality portrait miniature of a young lady was executed in 1813 by good listed French portrait and miniature painter Balthasar Charles Larpenteur (1783 Versailles - 1843).
The French portraitist,pupil of Pernot and Perrat. He lived in Versailles and due to his known portraits of French royalties obviously worked for the court. He is author of portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte (1810), as well as miniatures (Portrait of the King of Rome, Orlatek, 1815). He showed his paintings at the official Parisian Salons in 1810 to 1846.

Inscription: signed and dated 1813 lower right, on the back is a inscription of a collector.
Technique: gouache on organic wafer, original period gilt bronze frame.
Measurements: unframed w 3 3/4" x h 4 1/3" (9,5 x 11 cm), framed 4 1/8" x 4 3/4" (10,6 x 12 cm).
