The Arlberg Pass is a mountain pass between Vorarlberg and Tyrol.
Valuga is the highest peak in the Arlberg region.
The author of this watercolour is Josef (Sepp) Steiner (Hallein 1915-2008 Salzburg). Sepp Steiner graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, studying under Professors Böckl and Fahringer, among others. In 1953, Oskar Kokoschka appointed him his first assistant and together they founded the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg, the "School of Seeing," which Steiner oversaw intensively.

Technique: watercolour on paper, gilt frame.
Mesurements: unframed w 24" x h 19 7/8" ( 61 x 50,5 cm), framed 25 1/3" x 21 1/4"(64,5 x 54 cm ).
Condition: watercolour: very good, two damages on upper site of frame.
