Monumental seascape with crashing waves was executed by listed Italian marine painter Remo Aldini, born in Pozzuoli (Naples) in 1943, favors maritime motifs and coastal landscapes in his work. His documented works include titles such as "Marina" and "Scogliera"; his paintings regularly appear at international art auctions in Europe and USA.
The painting vividly depicts a stretch of coastline in the Tyrrhenian Sea, a basin of the Mediterranean, with powerful waves and spray crashing against the setting sun.
