Marc-Antoine Hervier (as mentioned in the registry of births, deaths and marriages; not Marie-Antoine!) was a pupil of David and Aubry, and exhibited at the Salon of Paris from 1810 to 1817. He worked as a painter and miniaturist, and was for some period active in England. Schidlof writes that, "Hervier was an artist who drew well and who seems to have been influenced by Augustin".

Measurements: unframed w 2 7/8" x h 3 1/2" (7,3 x 9 cm), framed 3 5/8" x 4 1/8"(8,7 x 10,3 cm).
