This rare  historical painting was executed in the early 20th century by an Austrian  painter and signed illegibly. It depicts scene in the Austrian Royal palace Schönbrunn as young Mozart performs for Empress Maria Theresa and her family on October 1, 1762.

In October 1762, six-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, along with his sister Nannerl, performed for Empress Maria Theresa at Schönbrunn Palace. The musical prodigy delighted the imperial family in the Hall of Mirrors with his piano  playing.

Provenance: Viennese private estate.

Incription: signed illegibly lower right.

Technique: oil on cardboard, magnificent antique gold-plated frame.

Measurements: unframed w 31 7/8" x h 24" (81 x 61 cm), framed 42 1/2" x 34 5/8" (108 x 88 cm).

Condition: very good.
